Process for Change/ Update Address and Other Details

  • Fill out this application form as the primary applicant. Be sure to attach proof of the change in address, or other specifics.
  • If the applicants don't provide proof of changing of address, he can certify the forms to the following individuals
    • Gazetted Officer - Group A
    • Village Panchayat Head, or Mukhiya
    • Gazetted Officer - Group B
    • MP/ MLA/ MLC/ Muncipal Councilor
    • Tehsildar
    • Head of Recognized Education Institution
    • Superintendent/ Warden/ Matron/ Head Institution
    • Recognized shelters/Orphanages/ shelters
    • Officer EPFO

UIDAI allows holders of Aadhaar cardsto change their address without having to provide documents. Aadhaar cardholders are able to alter their address even if they could not prove documents proving their identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped a crucial feature which lets you change your Aadhaar card's address without documentary proof of address.

UIDAI lets customers of Aadhaar cards to change their address with no need for documentation. Aadhaar card holders are able to update their address, if they are willing to accept the authentication by the verifier of their address. An address verifier can be a relative, friend or landlord who can allow the Aadhaar card user to make use of their address as proof.

UIDAI has stopped using this facility. UIDAI provided a response to an Card owner by tweeting that the capability to update address on Aadhaar Card using an Address Validation Form has been halted. UIDAI has requested for the Aadhaar Issuers to inform users of the possibility to update their address using a accepted PoA document.

UIDAI lists the following documents as POA documents (Proof of Address) documents that include the name and address for Aadhaar cards

Passport

Statement/Passbook for Post Office Accounts

Driving licence

Water Bill (not more than 3 months)

Telephone Landline Bill (not older than 3 months)

The Credit Card Account Statement (not older that 3 months).

Photograph of signature and signature of official company registered on letterhead

Pensioner Card

Freedom Fighter Card

Kissan Passbook

Passport of Spouse

Travel documents of parents (in the case of minors)

Central/ State Govt. Issued an allotment letter to accommodate. (Not longer than three years)

Bhamashah/Jan Aadhaar card issued Governmentt. Rajasthan

Certificate issued by the Superintendentor Wardenor Matron/ Head of Institution of a recognized shelter home orphanages, etc. on UIDAI standard certificate format for enrolment/ update
